Applying to the Brighton CERT Team

 

The Brighton Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)s looking for mature adult volunteers who are interested in helping Brighton's Office of Emergency Management make our community safer!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

As one of the only directly sponsored CERT teams in the Denver Metro area, we are looking for passionate individuals who are interested in giving back to thier community by donating thier time. Our CERT members are offered training opportunities, participation in local events, and an opportunity to join a small tight-knit community of like-minded adults in giving back.

Requirements to Apply

CERT participants are required to meet the following requirements before applying to the Brighton CERT program. The CERT program involves completing a minimum of 8 hours of training per year, although more are encouraged, as well as fairly regular attendance at the Brighton CERT team meetings, one evening a month.

 

  • Must have completed the 32 hour CERT Class (in brighton or elsewhere)
  • Must have no felony criminal background
  • Must be a mature adult, familiar with the demands of working in a professional evironment
  • Must be willing and able to accept direction from emergency services personnel

 

The CERT program involves completing a minimum of 8 hours of training per year, although more are encouraged, as well as fairly regular attendance at the Brighton CERT team meetings, one evening a month.

The Application

For CERT training classes offered in the community by the Brighton Office of Emergency Management, the Application and Skills Inventory are provided to all students at the end of the class, along with some description of the team's role.

 

You do not have to have completed a brighton class to apply. If you meet the requirements above, including completing the 32 hour CERT class, please feel free to complete and submit the team application if you are interested in volunteering for the City of Brighton.
