Safety on the Internet Class

This one hour class is a custom course provided by the Brighton CERT team that focuses on the challenges that the modern internet environment poses to individuals in the Brighton community. As the popularity of the internet has grown exponentially, the online scams, malicious software, and other threats to families have grown with it. This course examines common topics of confusion including social networking, understanding how to distinguish spam and phising emails, as well as how to know if you are on a legitimate website.
A basic understanding of how to use an internet application such as Microsoft Internet Explorer, and how to use email is required to get the most from this class.
This class is offered free by the Brighton Office of Emergency Management.
No offerings of this class are currently committed to a hard date for 2010. Please see the details below to request a conduct of this class for your business or organization.
To Register: Please contact the CERT team at (303) 655-2378 or email info@brightoncert.org. We will need your name, home address, phone, email address, and which date you are planning on attending.
